About Vyds
Screen recording should be affordable. We're making it happen.
Our story
Vyds started with a spreadsheet and a question: why does screen recording software cost $12.50 per person per month? We looked at what Loom charges a 20-person team and the answer was $3,000 a year. For recording your screen. We thought that was absurd.
So we built Vyds. We are a small team that leans heavily on AI to move fast. Our infrastructure costs are a fraction of what legacy video platforms pay because we made different architectural choices: local-first recording so we are not streaming raw video to servers, Cloudflare R2 for storage instead of expensive CDN contracts, and a lean codebase that one engineer can maintain.
The result is a screen recorder that does everything teams actually need — recording, editing, sharing, team libraries — at a price that does not make your finance team wince. We are not trying to be a billion-dollar company. We are trying to build a tool that is so good and so affordable that switching from Loom is obvious.
What we believe
Software should be affordable
The AI revolution means small teams can build great products with a fraction of the headcount. We pass those savings to you instead of padding margins.
Local-first is better
Your recordings should be saved to your device before they upload anywhere. No lost recordings, no upload failures in the middle of a demo.
Free should mean free
No watermarks on your videos. No artificial limits on recording quality. No 5-minute caps designed to push you into a paid plan.
Teams deserve better tools
Shared libraries, centralized billing, viewer analytics. Collaboration features should not cost $12.50 per person per month.
Record your first video in under 60 seconds
No credit card. No watermarks. No tricks. Just recording.
