Behind the byline
The Vyds Team
We are a small team building screen recording tools. We use every product we compare in our reviews. Here is how the blog actually gets written.
Who writes this
Most posts on the vyds blog are bylined "Vyds Team." That is a small group: a founder, a part-time editor, and AI tools used as drafting and research assistants. We do not invent author names or pretend a single person wrote every post.
When a post reflects first-hand experience from a specific person on the team (founder voice, founder benchmark, specific incident), the byline will be that person's name with a link to their profile. Until that happens, "Vyds Team" is the honest answer.
How posts get written
- Research first. Every comparison post pulls live pricing from each competitor's public pricing page on the day of writing. We date-stamp every price claim in the post body (look for the "verified YYYY-MM-DD from competitor.com" pattern). Old prices are corrected within a week of being noticed.
- First-hand testing where possible. When a post benchmarks a tool (BlackHole on macOS, Loom's recording quality, ScreenPal's editor), we ran it ourselves. The post will say what hardware, what software version, and what we measured.
- AI drafting + human review. Initial drafts of structured posts (listicles, comparison roundups, how-to guides) are produced with AI assistance. Every draft is reviewed by a human before publishing. We do not ship AI output untouched, and we do not use AI to fabricate quotes, prices, or test results.
- Sourcing. Trustpilot reviews quoted in posts are real reviews from named reviewers with the publication date in the citation. We do not fabricate quotes. If a quote does not have an attribution, treat it as paraphrased commentary, not a direct quote.
- Edits after publish. Pricing, feature, and policy details on competitor products change. When we notice something is wrong, we fix it and the audit log entry at docs/seo/audit-log.md records what changed and when.
What we will not do
- Invent author names or fake credentials.
- Quote a Trustpilot review without a real reviewer and a real date.
- Cite a competitor price without checking the live pricing page that week.
- Ship a comparison post that we have not used the compared products in.
- Add affiliate links to any competitor (we do not have affiliate relationships).
